“One More Year” She Said

For the last 4 years I have been the President of the Oatley 101 Society of Artists Inc. It has been an amazing experience, not all good but on the whole it has given me so much back.
I have met extraordinary people, Learned a great deal about art and the art community and have developed my own art style and skills throughout that time.
The society’s membership has grown rapidly particularly in the last 2 years. The achievements I have overseen during this time have been incredible and I am very proud of the committee who work with me. There are hours of personal time vested in the success of the society but I believe that it has been worth it all.
Recently I nominated the society for a community services award and we were presented with that award by Mark Coure MP, Member for Oatley at Club Central in Hurstville. I had also nominated the secretary, Robyn Riley for her sending commitment to the Society and she was presented with that award as well.
It was not my intention to remain for another year, however I was nominated for 2018 and have accepted the position for the final year. It is time to make the transition so new and fresh ideas can come to the fore.
The Society’s warm and welcoming atmosphere has been commented on by members and visitors alike. This is what a community group should be about. It has been worth it.
