Wedgetail Eagle

This magnificent bird of prey was such a joy to behold.  We were very fortunate to get the one photograph before it flew off.  a memory to cherish.  The light was just at the right angle to catch the feathers and shape of the eagle.  The colours were amazing.

I chose to paint it in gouache as the range of colours allowed me to layer more effectively.   The background wash was also in gouache and I was very pleased with the result.

The eagle’s proud, strong and decisive stance led me to name the painting “Positional Power”.
