“Sarus Cranes – Let’s Dance” (Gouache)

This painting was inspired by a recent trip to the Atherton Tablelands in Queensland where the Sarus Cranes and Brolgas fly into the old craters (now swamps) each evening.  They arrive in groups and their beautiful dance movements are fascinating.  It was very chilly the evening we were there but it was certainly worth a little discomfort.

It is painted in gouache and received the people’s choice award at Oatley 101 Art Society’s November Gallery exhibition.  I was rather chuffed to recieeve such an award from the viewing public.
