Gotta Love Tawney Frogmouths.

Tawney Frogmouths, for me, are some of the loveliest, most inquisitive and quirky birds.  As my followers know, I paint a lot of them in so many ways.  They are enchanting.

Lately I have found that the birds I love look awesome on black gessoed canvas and lend themselves well to be portrayed as miniatures.  These 2 were from my own photos taken in a friend’s back yard.  I am thrilled to say that the interest in them from art lovers and collectors has been very exciting.
